Mojo’s class has been working on a big project for a few weeks. They’ve been writing their autobiographies and reading biographies of famous Americans. Each child selects a person to do further research about. They write a report and then, best of all, get to BE that person in the school’s Wax Museum. Imagine a gym filled with second graders, all dressed up in character and excited. Each child has a button on the wall behind them. When the button is “pushed” they come alive and tell all about themselves. What’s so cool about this project is that EVERY KID was bursting with information that they gathered about their character. Every child memorized a big speech that they wrote themselves. They were all so enthusiastic and animated and engaged in this activity. I have never been to a real wax museum but I can’t believe it would be any better or more informative than this one was today. Well done, second graders!
