Nature’s Waterpark

We spent one morning at Johnson’s Shut-ins State Park. Two years ago a dam break demolished parts of this park and wiped out the campgrounds. Fortunately it happened during the winter when there were no campers to be swept away. The park is finally open again and as gorgeous as ever!

The rocks make for fun and interesting climbing. The water gurgles through many pools and shoots with nooks for the kids to explore.

There are waterfalls to stand under.

Streams to explore.

Rocks to slide down and many many ways to get completely drenched.

We soaked in the water. We soaked in the sun. And, best of all, we soaked in the beauty of one of the finest parks Missouri has to offer.

Oh what fun! Who is the man that looks just like John but with a gray beard?
