The Lodge

This vacation is the highlight of my children’s year — even more fun for them than Christmas!

First there’s the clown who promises fun when you arrive. There are activities every night which is major excitement for my kids — staying up late and playing way after dark. There’s bingo! John won $9.

Talent Show night is another biggie. My children made up a skit with some of the other kids. They planned and it practiced it over a few days. They also got to participate in the opening act.

One night is dedicated to campfire songs. The whole camp gathers around and sings together.

Then roasts weinies…

And drinks soda and eats smores.

How quiet and empty the evenings are now that we’re back with regular bed times and no spontaneous golf cart tours or scooter races. No candy on the deck with their aunties or thowing “snaps” and running around with glowies.

They’ve already begun the countdown until next year even though the clown wasn’t exactly right. They didn’t like it there. They LOVED it there.
