Road Trip – VA Beach

We landed in VA Beach along with Wat & Nancy and the Abeshaus Clan. The first night was spent at a campground. Our friend Martin is the most enthusiastic camper we’ve ever met. And organized, too! While John and I are definitely NOT campers, Martin made it as painless as possible by cooking all the meals, making a fire for roasting marshmallows, cooking up an amazing breakfast for the whole crew.

My kids were thrilled to be playing with their buddies again — especially on the giant jumpy thing at the camp site.

We were thrilled to hit the beach.

And had many fun meals together.

Nancy and I even squeaked in a bit of knitting on the balcony.

We explored the VA Aquarium. Petting and feeding the rays was a hit.

As was the shark tank.

The time was too short, though. It seemed like a blink of the eye and we were watching our last sunrise on the beach as we headed back to the Midwest.
