Happy Hundred

Can you guess what is special about today?

It was the 100th day of school or, as Oli proclaimed when he jumped in bed with John this morning, his “lucky” day. Lucky because the morning was filled with fun and celebration. All the activities revolved around the number 100. The children all got lollipops and a chart. They were ordered to count the licks on their lollies — a task all the kids attacked with gusto.

Alas, Oli only made it to 60 licks before he just had to crunch into it. They decorated hats, built 100 piece puzzles, filled bags with 100 pieces of small snacks and on and on. When you’re five, 100 is a very big number. It represents lots and lots of fun!
