Knitting Lessons

Mojo and I went yarn shopping yesterday. She wants to knit more this summer so we decided on a simple project and selected yarn. I cast on for her and she’s off and knitting. When she came home from school today she breathlessly asked if she could sit on the porch and knit with me for a while.

There’s nothing I’d rather do, sweet daughter. Here’s to a summer of porch knitting. I can hardly wait!

How sweet. And is that a reverse appliqué I see?

I forgot to take my current project to Toledo with me, so I went to Michaels and bought a skein of cotton yarn for $1.69 that comes with a pattern on the label. Brand is Lily Sugar & Cream. I can’t say the skein I chose had a simple pattern – it was a dishcloth with ribs and some openwork, but the price sure was right. The only problem is the print is so small and faint I had to write it on paper to be able to read it. But,the project was done relatively quickly and the yarn & colors are nice.
