Eat Cake

Many, many months (years?) ago, I read about baking cake in mason jars — not the normal, large canning jars, but the smaller half-pint jars. Problem was that I could not find half-pint jars locally or maybe I just did not know where to look for them. Imagine my joy when a friend reported that they were available now at the grocery store. I immediately ran out and bought a dozen. The next day, I baked.

These were ridiculously simple — I used a cake mix and one box made a perfect dozen.

I can’t think of a better way to put a little love in a lunch box.

I bought some of those half pint jars during canning season, I was SO excited to see them. I haven’t had to guts to do the cake yet. Did you bake in the jar method or the layering the cake into the jar method?

Bake in the jar — just made a box of cake mix and used the jars instead of a cupcake pan. I think I baked for 20 minutes and they were done.
